Congregation member Kylie Chye runs our children’s RE programme during school terms. All children of primary and intermediate school age are welcome. This year, the RE programme will run for three out of four weeks in a term, with the first term’s dates as follows:

  • 12 February
  • 19 February
  • 5 March
  • 12 March
  • 19 March
  • 2 April
  • 9 April

Children start the service with the congregation through ‘Joys & Concerns’ and then move downstairs for the remainder of the service with the RE Teacher.

Lessons focus on the seven Unitarian Universalist principles, and use the Tapestry of Faith curriculum provided by the Unitarian Universalist Association. “Tapestry of Faith is a series of programmes and resources for all ages that nurture Unitarian Universalist identity, spiritual growth, transforming faith and vital communities of justice and love.”

The programme includes stories, worship, songs and activities which inspire social action, ethical and spiritual living and a foundation for a faith based life. The Tapestry of Faith website provides additional information for parents and children who have questions or would like to learn more about the lessons.
