19th Century Unitarians James and Harriet Martineau resisted inherited authority and insisted on the freedom to seek truth for themselves. One remained a religious theist and the other became a freethinker, but both embodied a spirituality grounded in conscience, courage and responsibility.
Universalism
Speaker & Worship Leader:- Paul Henriques

Paul will explore the history and beliefs of Universalism, including notable events, eminent Universalists and its merger with Unitarianism. Our Auckland church is rooted in Unitarianism and we have knowledge of it, but if you know little concerning Universalism and are curious, this will be a chance to hear more about it.
On Matariki weekend (July 12) we will celebrate this special day in Aotearoa with the welcoming of new members to our ropu (congregation).
We will continue the year with further services that both help us to reflect on our values and principles and to consider these in action.
